The plot of the movie is being kept under wraps, but it is expected to continue the story of Billy Batson, a teenage boy who can transform into an adult superhero by saying the word « Shazam ». The film will see the return of Zachary Levi as Shazam, as well as the rest of the cast from the first movie, including Jack Dylan Grazer, Asher Angel, and Mark Strong.
In addition to the returning cast, « Shazam 2 Fury of the Gods » will also feature some new characters, including the villainous Hespera, who will be played by Helen Mirren. Hespera is described as the daughter of Atlas and an ancient goddess who is seeking to overthrow the gods of Olympus.
