Strange Magazine
Strange is a French comic book magazine published from January 1970 to March 1998 by Lug, then by Semic, first in small format and then in comic book format. It featured stories and characters from American publications Marvel Comics and, after its publication by Semic, DC Comics series.
Published following the discontinuation—after a few issues—of Fantask due to official censorship, Strange spawned several other magazines: Spécial Strange, Strange Spécial Origines, Strange Vacances, and Strange Spécial Jeux. The success of Strange led Lug to create other magazines such as Titans, Nova, Planet of the Apes, and Spidey.
In 2007, Organic Comix took over the magazine’s name, publishing often previously unpublished comics and articles. This version ended in 2011 with the publication of issue 350.
In 2012, Editions de Tournon relaunched the title under the name Strange Collector, a booklet dedicated to superheroes accompanied by metal plaques of various Marvel heroes.
In January 2022, Xavier Fournier, a general comics specialist, announced that he had acquired the title Strange and promised a release date for 2022.
